A spear tipped pH probe is good for stabbing things. It works great for reading the pH of soil or food.
The tip is a solid glass point that seems almost unbreakable. Unless you are pounding this probe into the ground like a tent stake, the tip will not break. Although the Atlas Scientific spear tip probe looks diffident, it can read pH just as well as our lab-grade pH probe.
This probe is all about its shape, it is intended (but not required) to be used to pierce into a material.
